Job Description

JetBrains is a global technology company that creates intelligent software development tools. Our Legal team plays a crucial role in supporting various departments across the company, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. We are currently looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join our Corporate Legal team. This role is focused on providing support for corporate legal matters across various jurisdictions and contributing to cross-border legal operations. You will work closely with senior legal colleagues to help maintain compliance across jurisdictions and support internal process improvements, while gaining hands-on experience in an international legal environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to Group companies operating across various jurisdictions (both EU and non-EU), including drafting corporate documents (e.g. board and shareholder resolutions and powers of attorney) and supporting ongoing corporate compliance processes (e.g. assistance with annual compliance filings and audits).
  • Maintain and update corporate registers and governance databases.
  • Assist senior legal colleagues in coordinating and executing complex legal projects, such as intra-group agreements, corporate restructurings, incorporations, liquidations, and other cross-border corporate matters.
  • Support the operations of a non-profit organization in the Czech Republic (nadace), including drafting donation agreements, responding to document and information requests, and maintaining legal compliance.
  • Contribute to improving the Corporate Legal team’s internal operations by proactively researching, proposing, and helping implement automation tools and process optimization solutions to enhance the team’s efficiency, and contributing to the creation of templates and knowledge databases.
  • Conduct legal research on a range of local and international corporate law topics and prepare well-structured summaries and analytical memos based on the findings.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams – such as HR, tax, accounting, and treasury – to facilitate seamless operational and legal support where required.
  • Engage with external parties, including regulators, trade registers, public authorities, banks, external counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform other legal tasks and provide support on ad hoc requests as needed.

Requirements:

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken, with professional proficiency in an additional language (such as Czech, Polish, Dutch, or German) being an advantage.
  • A university-level degree in law, equivalent to a bachelor’s or higher qualification, from a recognized institution.
  • 2–4 years of legal experience in the corporate law field, preferably gained within a multinational corporation or an international law firm.
  • Experience working with legislative systems across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the Czech Republic, UAE, UK, Poland, Israel, and Armenia.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.

Desired qualities:

  • Quick reflexes when dealing with foreign laws and novel concepts.
  • The requisite skills to provide clear and concise legal advice that is understandable to a wide audience.
  • The ability to adapt to large and complex structures with varying priorities and tight deadlines.
  • The ability to captain parallel projects and lead various initiatives.
  • Creative flair and lateral problem-solving skills, supported by thorough research.
  • Sharp wit and even sharper critical thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Diligence, self-reliance, and time management skills.
  • Transparency, openness, and integrity with your team and the whole company.

Benefits and perks:

  • Fascinating work in a friendly team.
  • A well-being package.
  • A flexible working schedule.
  • Six weeks of paid vacation (local regulations apply).
  • Excellent opportunities for professional and personal development, including travel to professional conferences worldwide, access to the LinkedIn Learning platform, and more.
  • A comfortable working environment, including a gym, leisure facilities, a child-friendly office, a car park with electric vehicle charging points, a secure bike storage room, and more.
  • Additional benefits include a daily meal allowance, free in-office refreshments, massages, language courses, and much more.
  • Hybrid work from your home in any location where JetBrains' offices are.
